Hello Again CHANI App Team,

It’s been two years since I last interviewed to join your team. So much has changed since then, but my desire to work with you remains the same!

I heard you’re looking for someone with rigorous copywriting experience and a penchant for meeting deadlines. I have that, but I also have a dedicated daily writing practice. You’ve maybe heard that sharks have to swim to survive. For me, that’s writing.

Allow me to reintroduce myself: I’m Stephanie Dawn Hawkins, founder of Dawning On LLC, creative producer, UX writer, facilitator, and #1 nature fangirl.

It’s a lot, but it’s clear how my skills would be the perfect addition to the CHANI team.

I’ve led communications at the creative iOS apps “Word Swag” and “Story Swag,” helping them grow to well over a million downloads through content production and community engagement. I helped trending tanning oil company, Vacation Inc build their Chardonnay Seed Tanning Oil brand narrative from the beginning. I write grants to fund volunteer-based conservation organizations like Fisheries Resource Volunteer Corps and San Gabriel Mountains Heritage Association. I’ve helped myself to every single opportunity to have fun and learn as much as possible while doing it.

I am passionate about fostering growth through connected narratives! That means I know what it takes to grow a connected and inclusive community online and offline. I’ve managed to do so independently, as a queer Black woman.

I possess a relentless attention to detail and a deep love of people that empowers my voice, consistency, style guides, and cheeky wordplay. My copywriting experience includes crafting creative copy for emails, social media ads, landing pages, product descriptions, podcasts and workshops, app headlines and pop-ups, and product packaging. I effectively communicate product features and technologies to diverse audiences and excel at breaking down complex terms into accessible, digestible pieces.

I am known for delivering copy that is concise, search-engine-optimized, and accessible. My experience includes collaborating with writers, editors, designers, researchers and marketers from London to New York.

The possibility of joining a queer, feminist-led tech and media company as a copywriter, in the age of A.I., is the perfect opportunity to embody my whole self and share my strongest gifts: my voice and my ability to connect.

The potential excited me enough to write yet another cute little cover letter.
